Hi all, a quick update for you on a couple of things ...
Facts and figures
I was looking at how much the blog has been visited and read since I set it up in January and I came across some interesting facts and figures about our scheme’s site I thought I’d share with you!
- We get over 100 visits a month to the site and they are not just from our estate. This has steadily grown from about 50 in January, 60 in March and a high of 105 in May.
- 54 visits were from the US and 16 from Russia. Other visitors to the site come from South Korea, Philippines and Argentina to name but a few.
- The three most read posts are those about the grit bin, the litter bin on the play area and parking on the pavement making up just under 20% of all the post that are read.
- Most visitors come to the site from the links I send to you about updates but over the last 2 months people seem to be finding the site using Facebook or search engines such as bing and Google.
- The ‘how to post a comment ‘ page is read at least twice a day - but generally speaking comments are thin on the ground.
So thanks for your support and feedback on the blog, I hope it continues to be a useful source of information for you. As always, please let me hear your comments, good or bad, about the blog by posting a comment.
Village Facebook site
Mark Cowley who lives on the estate has set up a Facebook site for the village at http://www.facebook.com/crostonnews. There’s lots of useful information about the village life and I’m sure if you use Facebook you’ll want to like the page.
Subscribing to the blog
You may have noticed a couple of changes to the blog’s home page one of which is the ‘subscribe via email’ link. If you enter your email address in the box and follow the instructions you’ll get an automated update every time I post to the blog. Your details don’t get passed on (I control the behind the scenes information if you enter your address) and it helps me because the email updates you get now can be sent automatically. So, if you have a moment now please would you subscribe by email from the home page.
Thanks, Abby.
Thanks, Abby.
