Hi everyone, here's the latest set of updates I've had from the Police Home Watch Co-ordinator.

First up is a Safer Trading Newsletter followed by two Trading Standards Newsletters here and here.  There is some information about a banking scam  and and award for the Neighbourhood Watch associaton.

There are some dates for the PACT meetings in 2013 here and an email about door locks here.

And now that the snow looks like it's coming if anyone would like to help spread grit at the entrance of the estate when the weather is really snowy please could you get in touch by replying to this blog post (my husband isn't always able to do this.)

That's all I have for tonight - keep warm!

This week's posts and updates

Hi everyone, just a few updates for this week's post.

First off the adoption of the estate is still ongoing. Mike spoke to Miller Homes and Chorley Council last week and there is still an ongoing issue with the ownership of some of the boundary walls and railings - I'll let you know when there is an update on their progress.

If you're interested in attending, I've posted the latest PACT dates here and you can read the latest Trading Standards newsletter letter here.

I've also posted some advice on how to opt out of Royal Mail junk mail, you can read it here.

That's all I have for now,

Abby

Monday night updates

Hi everyone, it's been quiet again over the last few weeks with nothing much coming through to post.  But I've received quite a few updates today from the Police NW Co-ordinator and I've posted them on the blog and I hope you find them interesting.

The latest Air Support Unit newsletter can be read here  and the May edition of Chorley Rural West policing newsletter is here.  There's an email about the National Neighbourhood & Home Watch Week here and the latest Trading Standards bulletin here.

I've also been asked to pass on the address of the Crime Prevention Website which can be found at http://thecrimepreventionwebsite.com/.  There's an email explaining more about the site you can read here.

Finally, I've still got loads of UV pens to mark property with and Neighbourhood Watch stickers if anyone wants some. Just let me know by posting a comment and I'll drop them off.

Happy reading!

This week's updates

Hi everyone - just two updates for this week. The first is from the police who have issued some advice about preventing burglaries and thefts from gardens which you can read here. The second is to let you know there have been more comments about the street football thread since I last posted an update, you can read them here.

Can I also ask those of you who have received an email from me asking you to confirm your email address with Feedburner to complete the registration process (let me know if you need me to send it to you again). It saves me so much time by automating the process of emailing everyone when I post a blog update and I'd appreciate your support to keep the admin overhead to a minimum.

Have a good weekend,

Abby

Street football and Police Newsletter

Hi everyone,

Two updates for tonight's post. The first is the April Police Newsletter which you can read by clicking here

I've also had a recent mail  from one of the estate's residents asking if I would post about the inconvenience and annoyance that can be caused when children use a house wall to play football against. On this occasion the children in question did not live at the house they were kicking their ball against and refused to move away when asked to stop because of the noise and disruption being caused.

It's obviously causing some distress to those having to live with this annoyance and I wanted to bring this to people's attention. As always, comments are invited and if you have any feel free to reply.

That's it for tonight,

Abby

Wednesday updates

Hi all, here's the latest four updates I've had from the Neighbourhood Watch Liason Officer, hope you find them of interest.

I've posted an update to an earlier post on Operation Starling and the latest Trading Standards update. There's also a Safe Trader newsletter here and some information about the ICE: In Case of Emergency initiative that I've been sent.

Hope it's all of interest.

I've also closed the poll about using Twitter to circulate blog updates. I only got a handful of replies and so I'm not going to set up an account.

Have a great Easter holiday,

Abby

Updates and information for Wednesday

Hi all, there are quite a few posts today. The first is from Lancashire Council concerning email,  telephone and internet scams that you can read here and there's a couple of articles about metal theft here and here.

Lancashire Police are launching a messaging service to keep people updated on crime and policing issues in their local area. You can read more about it by clicking here.  There is also a copy of the latest in the know newsletter here.  If you're interested in attending the Chorley and District Neighbourhood Watch Assocation AGM you can find the details here and here.

I've also been asked by Shirley Dodd to let people know that questionnaires for the Village consultation have been hand delivered to every home in Croston. Please would you return them to the locations stated on the back of the questionnaire or you can now complete the questionnaire on line by visiting Save Croston Rec on facebook where there is a link to the online survey.

That's it for now,

Abby
