Roundabout at entrance to the estate

I got an email earlier this week from Chris Gibbons who lives on the estate. Chris is concerned about the roundabout at the entrance to the estate and has been in touch with Lancashire County Council about his concerns. Chris has asked me to post the following message paragraph asking for resident's opinions about the roundabout.
Following a series of near misses I have had on the roundabout at the entrance to Jubilee Way I decided to notify Lancashire County Council of my concerns about the safety. I feel that the Jubilee Way roundabout is pretty much ignored by a large number of road users. Either they do not realise it is there, they do  not understand how to use a mini roundabout or they are chancers that expect the other user to give way when they shouldn't have too. Anyway, following my correspondance with LCC nothing is going to change, which to be honest is what I expected. (Except a repaint.) I was wondering what the thoughts of other residents are. Should we campaign for the roundabout to be replaced by a Give Way or STOP line? I think that one of these options would be better in respect of safety as the line would be higher up the slope so a better line of sight would be available to vehicles leaving Jubilee Way. Also, users on Jubilee way would know that they are on the minor road and this would remove the confusion that seems to occur on a regular basis in which cars on Moor Road fail to give way
If you want to have your say about the roundabout and respond to Chris please just post a comment and let him have your opinions about the entrance to the estate.
